Steve Genier

Of course like many others in this field, my interest was born out of a couple events that had happened to me over the years that I could only explain as being paranormal. These events lead me to begin actively investigating the paranormal in 1996.

I graduated from Trebas Inst. (Toronto) in 1996 with a full Television and Film degree. There I experienced several different aspects of the field, from production, most recently working on the set of AUTUMN, directed by Steven Rumbelow and starring Dexter Fletcher (Lock Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels, Band of Brothers) and David Carradine (KILL BILL, KUNG FU).

It wasn’t until 2005 that I decided to expand my passion for this field by forming the investigation team of SOPS. For the last 4 years we can investigated some of North America's most haunted locations, places like Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louisville, Kentucky, Rolling Hills Asylum in Batavia, New York, Iron Island Museum, Buffalo, NY as well as the Winking Judge in Hamilton, Ontario to name only a few.

On the personal side of things, my main focus is trying to link history with the paranormal activity that is experienced in each location. The history of these locations has always been a great interest to me. Lately though, I have found it very interesting to help those who are just looking to start up, where and how to begin with the paranormal. I have had the pleasure of interacting with some of the most notable people in the paranormal community such as Keith Age (The Louisville Ghost Hunter’s Society and the documentary SPOOKED), Robbie Thomas (DEAD WHISPER, THE SALLIE HOUSE) as well as working with many groups across Canada and the US.

My ultimate goal with the paranormal especially here in Canada is to band together, network and give many of us a chance to try and solve many of the mysteries the paranormal holds, but as a community. Networking is key in any hopes of achieving this.
In 2006, I began to help co-producing two internet radio shows that dealt with all the aspects of the paranormal; Full Moon Radio www.fullmoonradio.com and Darker Side of the Moon Radio www.darkersideradio.com. As of August 2008 I decided to branched out and host my own show titled Nocturnal Frequency Radio www.blogtalkradio.com/Nocturnal_Frequency . A show that covers mainly the paranormal but dives into the wonderful world of horror films! With past guest that include, Keith Age, Brian Harnois, Robbie Thomas, David Hess (LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT), the Booth Brothers and many more!

Currently, I'm in post production with the documentary CHASING SHADOWS which deals with the entire 4 years of travels, investigations, experiences and evidence of the Southern Ontario Paranormal Society. Hopefully will be completed October
2009!
